Meabh and Ciaran wanted their wedding day to be relaxed, simple and, most importantly, to feel like them.
And Ciaran was very upfront about one thing — having a wedding photographer wasn’t exactly at the top of his wish list! 😅
They weren’t looking to spend hours posing for photographs or disappear from their guests for a huge chunk of their wedding day, so three hours of photography at Knockrose House suited them perfectly.
A Relaxed Ceremony at Knockrose House
I joined Meabh and Ciaran at Knockrose House for their ceremony and stayed afterwards to capture all the congratulations, family photographs and the atmosphere of the day.
With shorter wedding coverage, I always want to make sure we’re using the time for the things that actually matter to the couple. There’s no need to squeeze in traditions or photographs just because they’re considered part of a typical wedding day.
Wedding Photos Without the Photoshoot
When it came to Meabh and Ciaran’s portraits, we kept things very relaxed.
Rather than turning it into a big photoshoot, we took a wander around the beautiful grounds at Knockrose House. I gave them a little direction when they needed it, but otherwise let them chat, walk and enjoy having a few minutes together.
For a couple who weren’t particularly into having their photographs taken, this was exactly what they needed.
Natural photographs, minimal posing and no spending hours away from their wedding.
Three Hours Was Plenty
Their three hours of coverage gave us time for the ceremony, all those lovely moments immediately afterwards, family photographs and relaxed portraits of the two of them.
Then I left them to get back to the important part — enjoying their wedding with their favourite people.
You really don’t need your entire wedding day to revolve around photography to come away with a beautiful collection of images.
