If you’re planning a Dublin registry office wedding, you might be wondering how much photography you need. Perhaps you’re heading out for lunch afterwards, having a party later or keeping the whole day small and simple.
You can still have beautiful photographs of your wedding without booking full-day coverage. A shorter photography package can capture your ceremony, the people celebrating with you and some relaxed photographs of the two of you around Dublin.
I’m Laura, a Dublin wedding photographer, and I photograph small weddings, registry office ceremonies and City Hall weddings. My approach is relaxed and natural, with time for family photographs alongside the little moments that happen without anyone arranging them.
What does Dublin registry office wedding photography include?
For shorter wedding coverage, we plan the photography around the parts of the day that matter most to you. That might include:
Arriving and greeting your guests.
Your ceremony, where photography is permitted.
The congratulations, hugs and happy faces afterwards.
Group photographs with family and friends.
Relaxed wedding portraits around Dublin city centre.
Even if you don’t have a photographer at your reception or evening party, we can make time for photographs with your guests after the ceremony.
You don’t have to choose between family photographs and photographs of the two of you. The aim is to allow enough time for both, without making the day feel like one long photoshoot.
Is 90 minutes enough for wedding photography?
It can be a lovely fit for couples looking for ceremony coverage, family photographs and a short portrait session afterwards.
Whether it suits your wedding depends on the ceremony length, how many group photographs you would like and whether we need to walk or travel between locations.
If you have a larger guest list or several family groups, two hours gives us more breathing room. It also allows more time for photographs together without feeling that you need to rush straight from the ceremony.
Before you book, we’ll talk through your plans so I can help you choose the coverage that fits your day.
Can we have wedding photographs around Dublin city centre?
Absolutely. A little wander through the city can be a lovely part of a small Dublin wedding.
You might want familiar streets, somewhere meaningful to you or a few different backdrops along the way. Depending on your ceremony location and timings, we can plan a manageable route with suitable places to stop.
I like to keep this part easy. You can walk together, chat and enjoy a few minutes as newlyweds, with some gentle direction from me when needed.
We’ll also consider the weather, how busy the streets might be and any access or photography permissions needed for your chosen locations.
What about City Hall wedding photography?
If you’re getting married at Dublin City Hall, shorter coverage is an option too.
We can build the photography around your ceremony, photographs with your guests and a portrait session nearby. The right amount of time will depend on your guest numbers, ceremony arrangements and what you would like photographed afterwards.
If you’re celebrating elsewhere later, you can choose to keep your photography focused on City Hall and the city, or book longer coverage to include more of the celebrations.
How much does small wedding photography in Dublin cost?
I offer a range of wedding photography packages, from short coverage for a Dublin registry office wedding to a full day of celebrations.
All my prices are available on my wedding photography pricing page. I think wedding planning is hard enough without having to contact suppliers just to find out whether they’re within your budget! You can browse the options first, then get in touch if you’d like help choosing the right coverage for your day.
For a registry office ceremony followed by family photographs and city portraits, the shorter packages are a good place to start. If you would also like preparations, drinks or part of your reception photographed, we can discuss longer coverage.
